What We Calibrate

Our Adelaide laboratory primarily provides accredited calibration for torque transducers and approved torque verification equipment within its current NATA scope. Hand torque wrenches can also be calibrated to ISO 6789:2017 Part 2. Torque testing and measurement equipment is calibrated through the laboratory and is not processed through the workshop calibration pathway.

Hand Torque Wrenches

ISO 6789:2017 Part 2 calibration for applicable hand torque wrenches.

torque transducer calibration

Torque Transducers

Calibration of approved torque transducers within the laboratory’s capability and accredited scope.

twc calibration

TWC System Transducers

Calibration of transducers used in TWC hand torque wrench calibration rigs.

trucheck calibration

TruCheck Equipment

Calibration of approved TruCheck torque verification equipment.

pro test calibration

Which Calibration Service Do You Need?

For eligible torque tooling, the appropriate service depends on your certification, servicing and compliance requirements. Torque testing and measurement equipment is calibrated through our Adelaide laboratory and is not handled through the workshop calibration pathway.

The laboratory will confirm whether the requested work can receive a NATA-endorsed certificate under our current accredited scope.

NATA Accredited Torque Tool Calibration

  • Completed through our Adelaide NATA accredited laboratory
  • Work performed within the laboratory’s current accredited scope
  • NATA endorsed Certificate of Calibration where applicable
  • ISO 6789:2017 Part 2 for applicable hand torque wrenches
  • Intended where accredited calibration is specified
  • Calibration only; servicing and repairs are handled separately

Standard Traceable Torque Tool Calibration

  • Available through Norbar workshops and service partners
  • Calibration, servicing and repair for eligible torque tools
  • Measurements traceable to our NATA-accredited laboratory
  • ISO 6789:2017 Part 1 for applicable hand torque wrenches
  • Declaration of Conformance for routine operational use
  • Testing equipment is calibrated by our Adelaide laboratory

Workshop reference equipment is calibrated through our NATA-accredited laboratory, maintaining a documented measurement traceability chain. Customer-owned torque testing and measurement equipment is also directed to the laboratory rather than the workshop calibration pathway.

NATA Accredited Torque Calibration – FAQs

Not always. NATA accredited calibration is generally required only when specified by your organisation, customer, contract or quality management system.

Norbar can explain the available calibration options, but your quality, engineering or compliance team must determine the certification level required.

NATA accredited calibration is performed by our accredited Adelaide laboratory within its approved scope and can receive a NATA-endorsed Certificate of Calibration.

NATA traceable workshop calibration uses equipment linked through a documented calibration chain to our NATA-accredited laboratory, but the workshop itself is not NATA accredited.

ISO 6789:2017 Part 1 is used by our workshops for applicable hand torque tools and results in a Declaration of Conformance.

ISO 6789:2017 Part 2 applies to laboratory calibration and provides a Certificate of Calibration containing recorded results and measurement uncertainty.

No. Calibration measures and records equipment performance. It does not automatically include adjustment, servicing or repairs.

If additional work is required, the equipment may be referred to a Norbar workshop, an approved service provider or Norbar UK. Any additional work will be quoted separately.

If the equipment is outside tolerance or additional work is required, the job may be paused while a revised quotation and purchase-order approval are obtained.

This can affect the booking schedule and completion date. Providing clear fault information and appropriate pre-approval can help reduce delays.

No. A booking date reserves laboratory capacity. It is not a guaranteed completion date.

Calibration work may take multiple days, depending on the equipment and work required. Certificate preparation typically follows completion of the technical work and may require approximately three additional working days.

Typical lead time is approximately two to four weeks, subject to equipment type, laboratory workload and the work required.

Current timing is confirmed at quotation. Additional testing, out-of-tolerance results, repairs or approval delays may extend the completion date.

Calibration intervals must be established by the customer based on equipment usage, application criticality, historical performance and quality requirements.

Norbar can provide technical guidance, but cannot nominate the calibration interval on the customer’s behalf. A stated interval is not a guarantee that equipment will remain within tolerance for that full period.

Yes, in selected cases. Acceptance depends on the equipment type, torque range, condition, operating direction and whether the required work falls within our laboratory capability and current accredited scope.

Yes. Customers with recurring calibration requirements can pre-book equipment for future calibration, including annual programs and blanket purchase-order arrangements where appropriate.

Pre-booked equipment must arrive within the agreed timeframe and be accompanied by the required purchase order to retain the scheduled booking.
