How to use a Norbar Industrial Series Torque Wrench
Video Transcript
Hi, my name’s Daniel, I’m from Norbar Australia, and I’m going to be showing you our Industrial Series Torque Wrench. These range from 600 Newton-meters, up to 1500. For this demonstration, I’m going to be showing our 600 Newton-metre industrial. In the box you’ll see that this is a two-piece wrench; the ratchet head and the handle. The ratchet head comes with a 3/4 inch and a one inch square drive. It also comes with an adjusting arm, and then you’ll get a series of documentation. First up is your Declaration of Conformance, to part one of the standard, accurate to plus or minus 4%. And lastly, your instructional booklet.
And now I’m going to show you how to use the wrench. Being a two-piece wrench, you’re going to need to fit the ratchet head to the handle. This is a snug fit so bear this in mind for the first couple of uses. Once that’s locked in, we’re now going to set the wrench using our lever arm. I’m going to be setting this to 200 Netwon-metres. Once that’s set, I can remove the arm, and now the wrench is ready to go. I’m going to engage the square drive on the socket. Hold the wrench in the middle of the handle indicated by the plus symbol.
Now this is a break-style wrench is designed to prevent over-torquing. As I apply pressure, you’ll see the wrench bend. This indicates that you’ve reached your desired torque. And it’s as simple as that. And that’s how you use our Industrial Torque Wrench. For more information, feel free to give us a call.
